Sean Aherne Art

Sean Aherne Art Studio

We are a small studio in Leicestershire producing entirely handmade signs, plaques and dog lead/key holders.  We started in October 2011 and sell on the following internet sites - eBay, Amazon, Gift Wrapped & Gorgeous, Etsy and Folksy.

Sean paints the original images on wood and it is then reduced and printed on a professional printer.  The print is then mounted on wood with a sawtooth hanger on the back or quality jute cord, ready to hang.  It is entirely handmade and finished to a very high standard in our studio.

Sean is the artist who produces these wonderful pieces of art and his wife Elaine carries out the office side of the business.

We intend to grow the business and Sean will be producing some new images throughout the year.  He once ran a very successful business for over 12 years called Sign of the Times and First Edition UK which were both very successful.

Sean was born in Leicester, England in 1952 and is a self taught artist.  His work varies from contemporary to fine art and he uses a variety of different mediums.

Sean has had over 70 paintings published by Felix Rosenstiel, one of the world's largest publishing companies.

He has illustrated two books, one being 'Paddy' by Gail Seekamp which was contender for the Irish Childrens Book of the Year 2003 and the other 'They Had No Choice - Racing Pigeons at War' by Garry McCafferty.

Sean was the creator of 'Sign of the Times' a hand painted furniture company and 'First Edition UK Ltd' a retail print business.

Paintings auctioned annually in The House of Commons for The Animals in War Memorial Fund, the monument now completed stands on Park Lane in London.

Dog paintings exhibited at Crufts and one of Sean's paintings hangs in the PDSA's head office in Milton Keynes, showing different battle scenes of how horses were used in the war.
